The 2023 Homes for the Holidays Tour for Hospice Care Ottawa meant so much not only to the Restyled Spaces team and homeowner Glenn McInnes, but also to the many guests that had the opportunity to experience what a little Christmas magic felt like.

As Glenn and the Hospice Ottawa volunteers welcomed guests to 514 Piccadilly Crescent in Ottawa, to see the incredible artwork displays and rooms adorned with Christmas decorations, a special guest was about to be greeted that had history in the beautiful home.

Elaine Spratt (nee Lintell), was born in the home in 1932, as her father had built the home back in 1931, the year he was married. Elaine and her 4 siblings grew up in the home now owned by Glen McInnes. Elaine always spoke with such fondness of the times she had growing up in the home. Fast forward to the present day, where Jill and Nancy, Elaine’s beloved daughters,  found out about the Homes for the Holidays tour for Hospice Care Ottawa. What were the chances that Elaine’s family home was going to be one of the homes being opened for the tour?

Jill, Nancy, and a friend from Ottawa orchestrated a heartwarming surprise for Elaine—not only a visit to the Homes for the Holidays Tour but a visit to her old homestead. This event is the Hospice Care Ottawa’s major fundraising event of the year and is organised and run by volunteers. Restyled Spaces & Home Staging Company were invited to help Glenn showcase his masterful artwork collection, and pay tribute to his late wife, Barbara McInnes, along with creating a memorable Christmas experience for the guests.  514 Piccadilly became the centrepiece of the tour.

Elaine, accompanied by her family and many visitors, strolled through the home, and got to reminisce about cherished moments from the past. Glenn was able to share history about the home, making the visit a cherished memory for Elaine and her family.

The tour was a resounding success, welcoming 1041 people over three days. The funds raised through Homes for the Holidays were dedicated to Hospice Care Ottawa, a cause close to the hearts of the McInnes family.

Restyled Spaces & Home Staging Company were honoured to be part of this memorable event. We hope guests enjoyed the Christmas spirit that we lovingly poured into all the rooms. We love our Ottawa community and were so thrilled to be able to give back to a wonderful organisation that helps so many families, when they need the support and care the most.
